Day 24, Friday 6/4 (Good Friday):

This morning I went out to find some geocaches around the old town. This gave me a good lie of the land and I was able to see some of the main attractions. This came in handy when we set out again in the afternoon to see some of the main Tallinn attractions. We started with the Toompea Castle, home to the Estonian Parliament - a lovely set of baroque buildings set into the castle wall with the tower ‘Pikk Herman’ prominently displaying the nation’s flag.
In the same area is the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, a 19th century Russian-Orthodox building into which we were able to enter. Nearby, we also found some excellent views over the town. With snow now heavily falling, it was a very pretty sight (made even prettier with the knowledge that we didn’t have to drive in it).
We decided, however, that it was too cold to continue on, so we headed back to the Raekoja Platz for a beer and crispy pig ears (very nice). I cooked pasta for dinner.
